Hermoso: "I can’t wait to start"
The defender was welcomed by club president Enrique Cerezo at our stadium.
Mario Hermoso was unveiled as a Red & White on Thursday morning at the Wanda Metropolitano Auditorium. The Spaniard was welcomed by our president Enrique Cerezo, sporting director Andrea Berta, legends Mondonça and Miguel Ángel Ruiz and the player’s family.
Cerezo welcomed the defender to Atlético de Madrid.
“Mario Hermoso plays as a centre-back but can also be deployed as a left-back. His wonderful qualities have earned him his debut in the Spain national team. We add a great player to our world class defence,” our president said.
Hermoso said he was very excited to join our club.
“I wanted this since the chance to come here arose. It’s a unique opportunity for me to grow and return to my city. I’m delighted and can’t wait to start,” the Spaniard said.
At the end of the presentation, Hermoso was presented with his new number 22 shirt.
