Griezmann, Saúl score in 2-0 derby win
Our team earned a 2-0 win against Getafe on Saturday thanks to goals from Griezmann and Saúl.
Atleti earned a 2-0 win at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday in the derby against Getafe. Griezmann and Saúl were the goalscorers in a very good performance from Simeone's boys.
Our team dominated possession in the first half and looked to take the lead right from the off. But Getafe, who are a strong defensive side, were able to contain us for amost half an hour. However, just before the 30-minute mark, our team's efforts were rewarded when Griezmann, as per usual, got the first goal. Thomas provided the assist with a great through ball. With momentum on our side, we managed to double our lead ten minutes later. This time it was Saúl who got the goal from inside the box, after Soria saved Kalinic's first effort.
The match arrived at half-time with the 2-0 score, during which Godín was substituted as a precaution due to thigh muscle pain. Juanfran came on for him. The Spaniard was placed at left-back while Lucas Hernandez made his way to centre-back. Shortly thereafter, Mollejo came on for Kalinic and almost scored a worldie with his first shot. The ball went just wide. Giménez also had a good chance later on, but Soria saved the Uruguayan's shot. Our last big chance was from Rodrigo who, following a wonderful play with Saúl, almost scored the third. It wasn't to be, though, and the game ended in a 2-0 win for our lads.
