Griezmann, at record pace
The French player, with the three goals scored in the victory in Vigo, now has 165 goals as a Red & White player in official matches and is four goals away from equaling Adrián Escudero and eight goals away from doing the same with Luis Aragonés and becoming the top scorer of our history.
Antoine Griezmann continues to make history as an Atleti player. Our '7' was the protagonist in our team's 0-3 victory in Vigo by scoring the three goals of the game. With these goals, Antoine now has 165 goals with our jersey and is the third top scorer in our history.
On September 16, 2014, he scored his first goal as an Atlético player in Greece. From there, another 164 goals have come, making Antoine one of the great legends of this club. In total, the Frenchman has scored 119 goals in LaLiga, 27 in Champions League, 13 in the Copa del Rey and six in the Europa League.
The French international is just four goals behind another legend, Adrián Escudero. The legendary striker, who played for our club between 1945 and 1958. He wore our jersey 330 times in those thirteen seasons as a Red & White and scored 169 goals (150 in the League, 17 in the Cup, one in the Latin Cup and one in the Duarte Cup). His first goal was against Hércules (February 3, 1946) and his last goal was against Real Sociedad (May 4, 1958).
And only ahead of Escudero is Luis Aragonés. In 370 games over twelve seasons (1964-1974), our legend scored 173 goals: 123 in LaLiga, 22 in the Cup, 15 in the Cup Winners' Cup, 12 in the European Cup, eight in the Ferias Cup, three in the Cup from UEFA and a goal in the International Cup; previous official Intertoto competition in whose 1968 edition our team competed.
