In a sunny afternoon in the Wanda Metropolitano, our side beat Celta de Vigo 3-0 thanks to Antoine Griezmann, Vitolo and Ángel Correa's goals.
The match started off intensely and both sides were interchanging control of possession. The first big chance of the match came in the 36th minute. Diego Godín nearly scored, but his header went just wide. Right before the referee blew his whistle for half-time, Griezmann scored the first of the afternoon. The Frenchman received the ball following a corner and sent his shot to the top corner.
In the second half, our side kept the same rhythm and created more and more chances. The second of the match came in the 56th minute. Griezmann laid off a beautiful ball to Vitolo, who subtly chipped the ball in to make the crowd in the Wanda Metropolitano go wild. Right after scoring, Vitolo was subbed off for Correa. The Argentine took just five minutes to score the third and settle the match.
Our next match will be on Thursday at 5 p.m. CET against Lokomotiv Moscow for the return leg of the Europa League Round of 16.
