Godin: "There were few occasions"
The fullback praised the rival’s category and recognized the team’s work
Diego Godín answered the microphones of Canal + after the draw in the Calderón against Valencia. The Uruguayan, who was a starter in the centre of the defence alongside fellow countryman Giménez, praised the work of both teams. "We play against very good rivals, that’s why they’re at the point they’re at," he said.
The fullback described the game as "complicated". The match ended in a draw and with 13 bookings, four for our team and nine for the visitors. "It was not a hard game, it was the interpretation of the referee. They were clashes, jumps, things of football," Godin thought.
The Uruguayan defender didn’t want to assess the fairness of the result. "In football, there are no merits, either you lose or you tie or you win," he said.
Lastly, the fullback wanted to look ahead. There is still a lot of League left. "We are going to continue thinking about the next match, as we said at the beginning of the tournament. Our rivals are Sevilla and Valencia. We only need to win," he concluded.
