Diego Godin was the last player of the week in the press room of the Majadahonda Sports City before the match against Getafe. The Uruguayan defined this weekends match as "A nice game against a rival who is fighting for Europe. We continue with our clear objective of making th Champions League. We’re looking at it like a final and we want to win it."

After fighting a long time to achieve the objective, Godin was asked about whether the the season felt a long one. "It seems long because everything is very regular. We have been consistent throughout the year which is something we’ve not been able to do in the past, which is very positive. We’re up there and fighting for the second place we want to achieve that but there are still two months to finish the season with a final at stake. The season is long but we are close to our target which we want to complete and play that final and win it," he said.

The season that Simeone and his men are having is being a successful one and the defender thinks that the fans are playing a big part in it. "They are valued. We value them and know the big difference in budget between the top two and the rest and considering the usual points difference, I think everyone appreciates the effort we’re putting in and we’ve been second all season and are now only one point behind Real Madrid. People value the effort in Cup too, reaching a final is difficult and we have the ability to reach finals and the fans appreciate that. Hopefully when the time comes to assess the season, we can finish the year in a good way and with a title," he said before the media.

The opposition manager Luis Garcia, widely praised Falcao and Diego Costa, calling them the best pair of strikers in the league and Godin agreed. "They are two spectacular forward on top form. They are different players but it is true that we have two of the best strikers in Europe right now," he said.
