Godín equals Perea's record as the foreign born player with most club appearances

The Uruguayan signed for Atlético in 2010 and has won six titles with the club.

After playing against Celta, in LaLiga Matchday 9, Diego Godín equalled Luis Amaranto Perea’s record of being the foreign born player with the most matches for Atlético de Madrid: 314.

Both players took eight seasons to reach the historic mark and they even played together during two seasons: 2010/11 and 2011/12.

Godín made his debut for Atlético on 27 August 2010, when we beat Inter Milan (2-0) in the UEFA Supercup. Since then, he’s won the Europa League, another UEFA Supercup, one Copa del Rey, one Liga and one Spanish Supercup with the club.
