Godín: "At the Calderón, with our people, we aspire to win the match"
Atlético's defender highlighted the importance of the fixture against Real Madrid, affirming that "there isn't a favourite".
Diego Godín appeared at the press conference after the training session that took place at Majadahonda's Sports City, to analyse next Saturday's derby against Real Madrid. The Uruguayan recognised that, "it's an important match against a direct rival because of what's at stake in the League. Playing at the Calderón, with our people, we aspire to win the match".
Godín spoke of the team's will to win: "We want to win, we always want to win and even more against Real Madrid. It's a different match, and just because we won the previous matches doesn't mean we'll win this one. We must plan it well, follow the path we're on and that's what's going to bring us closer to the result we want".
The Uruguayan emphasised the work being done by Atlético's team to stop their rivals on Saturday: "This week we're working on countering the strengths of Real Madrid. One of them is the counterattack, of course. They play with very fast people at the front, very fast and very precise. We'll try to be very careful, especially when we have possession of the ball because when they steal it, they are the most dangerous in the world".
