Atleti drew 0-0 against Lokomotiv Moscow on Wednesday despite creating many chances to score.
Our team enjoyed an excellent start to the game, collecting several early chances. Joao Félix, Carrasco, Correa and Llorente were all close to putting us in front inside the first 15’. We kept pushing, constantly attacking the visitors – mainly down Trippier and Llorente’s right wing. But despite all our chances, we were unable to take the lead in the opening 45’.
Guillherme continued his inspired run of form in the second half as he denied Saúl early on. Simeone moved things around by bringing Hermoso and Lemar on for Lodi and Llorente one hour into the clash. Koke scored shortly thereafter, but the goal was disallowed following a VAR review, since our captain was allegedly inches offside. Camello came on for Carrasco with 10’ to go as we constantly attacked the Russian side. Giménez hade a massive chance in the dying minutes of the match, but his header was just wide and the game ended 0-0.
