Giménez renews his contract until 2025
The Uruguayan, who joined our club in 2013, will stay with us for four more years.
Atlético de Madrid are delighted to announce that José María Giménez has renewed his contract until June 30, 2025. The Uruguayan joined our club in 2013 and has been a key player ever since.
Giménez made his debut on Sep. 14, 2013, against Almería and our centre back has since then made 216 appearances for our club. At 26, he’s one of our defensive leaders thanks to his quality and character. The centre back has won two LaLiga title (2013/14 and 2021/21), one Spanish Super Cup (2014), one UEFA Super Cup (2018) and one Europa League (2017/18).
