Giménez equals Luis Aragonés in the all-time Atleti appearance list
The Uruguayan centre-back played in his 370th game for the Club, placing him at 15th for appearances in Atleti history.
José María Giménez on Wednesday equalled Luis Aragonés for the 15th-most appearances in our club’s history (370). He joined the Club in the 2013/14 season and made his debut against Almería in LaLiga on 14 September 2013. Since then, he has won two league titles (2013/14 and 2020/21), one Supercopa de España (2014/15), one UEFA Europa League (2017/18), and one UEFA Super Cup (2017/18).
He has played 260 games for the Rojiblancos in LaLiga, 66 in the UEFA Champions League, seven in the UEFA Europa League, one in the UEFA Super Cup, three in the Supercopa de España, one in the Club World Cup, and 31 in the Copa del Rey. During his time at the Club, he has captained the side and become a key figure in the Rojiblancos’ defence, contributing to Atleti’s achievements since his arrival.
