HISTORY
Sporting CP were founded on 1 July, 1906 and have won 49 titles. Most of the team's trophies have been the Portuguese league (22) and cup (16). The team's most important trophy is the Cup Winners' Cup in 1964.

COACH
Jorge Jesus has been in charge of Sporting CP since 2016 and he played for the club during three seasons (1973-1976). Jesus most recently led Sporting CP to the league cup title in January.
CURRENT SEASON
Sporting CP are currently third in the Portuguese Primeira Liga with 62 points, five below first placed Porto. In the Europa League, they qualified after finishing third in their Champions League group. To qualify for the quarter-finals, they eliminated FC Astana and FC Viktoria Plzeň Bruno Fernandes is their top goalscorer in the Europa League with three goals.
