Gabi reaches 250 matches in Primera Division
The Children's Day festival coincided with the 250th appearance for Gabi in First Division.
He came to Atletico Madrid as a child and now he is the great captain. In a very special day for younger fans, Gabi kept pace in his successful career in the Spanish top flight, the player from Madrid has totalled 250 games in the First Division.
Since his debut on February 7, 2004 at the Mestalla stadium, Gabi has become the captain of the side and leading by example, like when he collected the latest titles and presented it to the god Neptune. All this, after becoming a Getafe player under the orders of Quique Sanchez Flores and later in Zaragoza, where he became a mainstay of the team.
One of Simeones regulars, the number 14 captained the side in the victory over Granada that saw his side move up to second place and on course to qualify for the Champions League. Recently, Gabi went through our ATM FLASHBACK `section. You can see it again here.
