Gabi accomplishes 300 matches in the First Division
Our captain has reached 300 games in the top competition of Spanish football in the duel against Espanyol.
This Sunday, the Vicente Calderón will witness the 300th match in the First Division for Gabriel Fernández. Atlético’s captain accomplished the dream of any home-grown player on February 7, 2004. Gabi entered the Mestalla field on minute 83 for his debut with the first team.
Since then, ten seasons have gone by in which the midfielder hasn’t stopped accumulating matches in the top competition of Spanish football. Showing what he’s made of and with an insatiable dedication, always fighting with courage and heart, Gabi has become one of the emblems of our organisation.
With the duel against Espanyol, the Spanish player has reached 300 matches in the First Division. An accomplishment that has been spread over 168 matches with the red and white Club, 100 with Zaragoza, and 32 with Getafe.
