Fran Escribá presents his web page at the Hotel AC La Finca

Quique S. Flores’ now former assistant begins a new stage

On Wednesday, May 25, Fran Escribá presented his official web page (www.franescriba.com), created by JM2 Informática at the Hotel AC La Finca in Pozuelo surrounded by many friends and media outlets. The coach from Valencia is beginning his solo athletic career after working with Quique Sánchez Flores for seven years and coaching at Getafe, Valencia, Benfica and Atlético de Madrid. With this presentation, Fran is looking for a turning point in his career and hopes to start a new stage as a head coach.

Many players who spent the last year-and-a-half with him were in attendance, including Antonio López, Tomas Ujfalusi, Juan Valera, Fran Mérida, Tiago, Assunçao and Mario Suárez, amongst others. Also attending were many employees who shared in the daily work with Fran at the ‘rojiblanco’ organization.

The main goal of the coach’s new web page is to bring him closer to the public in a simple and elegant manner, using recent trends such as Facebook, which is indispensable these days. With this new website, all kinds of information about its protagonist can be found (biography, news, interviews, contact information, etc...), but a tactical corner that features various technical-tactical drills intended for football-lovers must be highlighted.

“It’s a page especially directed at football coaches. I don’t want it to be a web to extol my qualities, I want it to be a website to communicate with the people. The goal is to help the people who love this sport, as they helped me at different times in the past. I’ve now closed one stage of my life and am looking forward to starting another and I believe that the presentation of the website is the first step,” commented Escribá.

Fran also analyzed the time that he spent at the ‘rojiblanco’ organization. “With this presentation, I say farewell to Atlético de Madrid and also to my coaching staff. Seven marvelous years have passed, I’ve spent time with people who have really helped me out and with whom I’ve shared many things. I’ll remember the two titles that we won with Atlético after so many years of drought and with the fans, who have always shown their support and affection. They showed it to Quique in the last match at the Vicente Calderón and at that moment they were showing it to all of us,” he commented.

“Quique and I shared lots of knowledge about football because, if we hadn’t, we wouldn’t have been able to work together. We’re different people and we also have different ideas, but that has enriched both of us,” he confessed.

Concerning Quique S. Flores, he highlighted that “I don’t have a manager as a model. I’ve always paid close attention to Quique because I’ve spent many hours with him. I think that he has an analytical ability that is very tough to find and that’s enviable. Quique has always managed things well. If there’s something that we’ve always done during the seven years in which we’ve lived together, it’s speak with each other. Our differences have always been about sports matters and we’ve settled them in the dressing room. Our relationship was always good until the end.”
