Torres joins the 400 club
Fernando Torres defended our kit for the 400th time in our semi-final clash against Arsenal at the Wanda Metropolitano. He's the eighth player to reach this illustrious mark.
Fernando Torres further cements his place in Atlético de Madrid's history. After featuring in our win against Arsenal at the Wanda Metropolitano, 'El Niño' defended our red and white colours for the 400th time.
Torres made his debut for our club 17 years ago when he stepped on the pitch at the Vicente Calderón against Leganés on 27 May. Just a few days later, he scored his first goal for our club. Since then, he's scored 126 more times and and surpassed Joaquin Peiro's mark (126) to become fifth in the all-time goalscorer list for Atleti. In total, he's scored in all competitions in which he's defended our colours.
Only seven players have ever reached the distinguished 400 club: Adelardo Rodríguez, Tomás Reñones, Enrique Collar, Juan Carlos Aguilera, Isacio Calleja, Juan Carlos Arteche and current captain Gabi Fernández.
