UNITED BY THE LEGEND PAULO FUTRE

A double European champion on our way

For the second season in a row we will be playing against the team of Do Dragão.

One of our opponents at the group stage will be FC Porto, a team with a long history in Europe. They have two Champions League titles, as well as two Europa League titles and a European Super Cup. In terms of domestic tournaments, they have thirty league titles and eighteen cups in their trophy cabinet. On their way to the Champions League, they managed to qualify without participating in previous rounds by winning the Liga NOS, the Portuguese league tournament.

We will have to visit once again the Estádio do Dragão in Porto, with a capacity of 50.399 spectators. We have played Porto four times in the Champions League: in the 08/09, 09/10, 13/14 and 21/22 editions, and once in the Fairs Cup in the 63/64 season. In the last edition of the Champions League we faced the Portuguese side in the group stage, qualifying for the last 16 at their stadium thanks to a 1-3 win with goals from Griezmann, Correa and De Paul.

In the team coached by Sergio Conceição, several players stand out such as Otávio, Diogo Costa, Evanilson or Taremi.

Our legend Paulo Futre has worn both kits, with Porto being the last team he played for before joining our club in 1987, in his first stage as a Red & White player.
