Enrique Cerezo: “Relax about Kun; he’s very happy here”
“We’re confident that we’re going to win all four games”
Enrique Cerezo, President of Atlético de Madrid, attended to the media after the MARCA/Ballesteros Forum at which Sergio Kun Agüero was the star guest. The head director of the ‘rojiblanco’ organization commented on the future of the Atleti striker, telling those there to “relax, because it’s a topic that has nowhere to go, as Kun is very happy here.”
Concerning the future of the team, the President commented that “we’re getting ready for a big change in everything, but nobody has said that the coach or the sports director or anybody else is going to leave. At least I haven’t said that. We’re going to restructure everything. We’re restructuring our work system and within that system we’re talking to people. When everything is clear to us and well done, we’ll say who they are, how they are and where they are. That will all start on May 22nd.”
As regards what’s left of La Liga, Enrique Cerezo commented that “we’re confident that we’re going to win the four remaining match, and that’s what we’re going to go for. But it’s also true that it’s not easy for a team to lose three straight matches, and as there are four left it’s going to be tough. We have the goal of playing in Europe. If we make it to Champions League, then phenomenal, but that would be very difficult, not because of us but because of other teams, who aren’t going to lose. Although anything can happen in the world of football. And if we have to play in the Europa League, that’s phenomenal, too, because we’ve already won it once and we’d try to go out and do it again.”
