End of the run

After thrashing Zaragoza and Udinese, Atletico could not extend their run and fell 3-2 at Getafe. Falcao put Atletico ahead before Barrada and Michel turned the game around. Dominguez managed to level the game after a long shot that deflected off a defender, but Diego Castro made no mistake from the penalty spot and gave the three points to Getafe who had started the day as bottom side of the first division.   Falcao opened the scoring after 27 minutes when the Brazilian Diego was brought down in the area.  Getafe defender Lopo was shown the red card and the Columbian striker converted the penalty, sending the keeper the wrong way.     the lead didn’t last long and the 10 men of Getafe drew level five munutes before the break. A Barreda free kick was curled in to the top corner of Cortouis goal, with the belgian keeper unable to do anythign to keep it out. All square at the break and to play for.    Things went from bad to worse for Manzanos men and just 4 minutes after the restart, Michel made it 2-1 to the home side. A cross from the left was turned in the the Atletico goal with a glancing head in the front post area.      From there Atletico continued to push in search of more goals but were met by a solid blue Getafe wall who were causing problems on the counter attack. But with 10 minutes to go the presure paid off, Dominguez struck from outside the area with a left-footed shot which took a deflection on its way in to the goal.   This set up an epic final 10 minute but it was Getafe who had lady luck on their side, awarded a penalty in the 83rd, Diego Castro stepped up and made no mistake capping a victory for the blues from the south side of Madrid.   LINE UPS Getafe: Moyá, Cata Díaz, Mané, Lopo, Lacen, A.J.Ríos, D.
