Emery : 'It was a very even game and it’s gone our way in the end'
The manager had kind words for the red and whites
Unai Emery was visibly pleased with the result of the match against Atletico de Madrid. The Valencian coach admitted that the game had been: “very even and could have swung either way at any moment.”
The ‘Che’ manager was aware of the change of play of the team at half time. “In the first half they pressured us, we were able to move the ball around at the back. They scored their goal, were very active with the score in their favour and countering our play. From that point on, we settled, managed to draw level and the game evened out.” He commented.
Emery, about Atletico de Madrid, stated “It’s a great team, it’s put together well and today we’ve seen a really close game.”
He also had good things to say about Atleti’s coach, Quique Sanchez Flores, whom he considers “A manager with a bright future and great work ethic. You only have to look back at the clubs he’s been with and see the results that he got from them. I think if he can get some breathing space, he’ll be able to get things moving forward.”
