Elías: “I’ve arrived at a grand club that always fights for Champions spots”
“I want to work hard and help the team out”
Brazilian central midfielder Elías Mendes landed just after seven in the morning at Madrid/Barajas Airport on a flight from Brazil. Immediately after landing in the Spanish capital he left it clear that he’s arrived with a desire to work and help a great team such as Atlético de Madrid.
“I’m very happy about the chance to play at a grand club such as Atlético de Madrid. This is a club with an enormous tradition, that is always fighting to play in the Champions League,” assured the recently arrived player.
The Brazilian footballer highlighted his desire to put himself at the orders of his new manager, Quique Sánchez Flores, in the capital of Spain. “I need a few days to regain my fitness. I normally play as second striker, but I’ll play wherever the coach says and work hard to help out,” he concluded before heading off to take his physical exam.
