Elías' Brazil beats Scotland thanks to two goals from Neymar (2-0)

‘Rojiblanco’ player Elías comes on in the second half

The Brazilian national team took down Scotland (2-0) this Sunday in a friendly match played at Emirates Stadium in London thanks to a brace from their young striker Neymar in just his third match with the side coached by Manu Menezes.

The player from Santos gave his country the victory with a nice goal on 42 minutes and nabbed his second from the penalty spot in the 77th minute in front of the attentive gaze of more than 53,000 spectators who enjoyed an entertaining match at Arsenal’s home stadium. Atlético midfielder Elías took part in the second half after coming on for Elano.

The Brazilian national team manager, who has his mind set on the upcoming Copa América in July, sent on another young player, Lucas, in the second half in a clear bet to rejuvenate the ‘cainarinha’. Additionally, Barcelona player Dani Alves got the start and played the full 90 minutes.

For their part, Scotland, one of Spain’s opponent in the qualification for the 2012 European Cup, hardly had any chances against the five-time champion of the world and their winless streak against the South American squad reached ten games.
