Draw at home
Atlético de Madrid and Rayo Vallecano drew in the match corresponding to the tenth LaLiga matchday. A late goal from Falcao equalised Morata's goal.
Atlético de Madrid and Rayo Vallecano played out a draw after an intense match in which the Red & White team had stretches in which they were far superior to their opponents.
The goal came from the first shot on goal for our team. On 20 minutes, once again a very good pressure on Rodrigo De Paul's pass ended up falling to Griezmann on the wing, who served it on a plate for Morata to beat Dimitrievski with his first shot to make it 1-0.That's how the half-time whistle went.
On returning from the dressing room, Rayo Vallecano looked a completely different Rayo Vallecano. After Iraola's orders, the team looked much more energetic when the ball came back into play. Rayo Vallecano were trying to dominate more against an Atleti side who looked set to give the visitors the first few minutes of possession. Ciss had the first chance for his side. The Senegalese midfielder headed a cross from Álvaro García from the left flank just wide.
It was Sergio Camello, our home-grown player, who had the clearest chance for Rayo. In the 68th minute, the striker hit a left-footed shot from the edge of the area that almost equalised. It was now the visitors' best minutes. Almost immediately after the previous move, Falcao again had the 1-1 in his boots. El Tigre' tried to poke the ball past a Grbic who covered just enough to prevent the Colombian from getting the better of him.
Atletico Madrid managed to shake off those minutes of Rayo pressure with another chance for Cunha. The Brazilian was in the box after a great run from the edge of the area only to find himself up against the goalkeeper again.
A mistake in the Rayo Vallecano's ball was going to cause serious problems for Iraola's team. Cunha recovered a ball in three quarters of the pitch and found Griezmann for the Frenchman to beat Dimitrievski. The 2-0, however, did not go up on the scoreboard as the '8' was slightly ahead.
The equaliser came in the 92nd minute, with Falcao converting from the spot to make it 1-1 at the final whistle.
A draw in a Madrid derby in which Atleti were superior in the first half, but Rayo Vallecano grew in the second half. In the end, Iraola's men took a point from the Cívitas Metropolitano after Falcao's late goal.
