Djukic: “We’re not afraid of playing Atlético with lads from the reserves”
“We’re going to try to counteract the motivation of the ‘rojiblancos’”
The head coach of Hércules Club de Fútbol, Miroslav Djukic, appeared before the journalists at the Press Room in Estadio José Rico Pérez in the lead up to this Sunday’s match at the Vicente Calderon against Atlético de Madrid. He began by speaking about the five players from the academy who have been called up to travel to Spain’s capital for this contest (Borja, Jabo, Jesús Pastor, Pepe Sellés and Poveda). “The footballers on the roster are all the ones I have available to travel and play in Madrid. We’re going there with the intention of earning the win and earning another three points. We’re not afraid of playing Atlético with lads from the reserves.”
Atlético de Madrid is playing to qualify for Europa League in these last two weeks. The head coach commented that “we’re going to try to counteract the motivation of the ‘rojiblancos’. Mentally, we’re not in our best form but we also have a lot on the line in this match: our prestige, for example. There are lots of quality players in the squad and they have to defend the prestige that they’ve earned in the last few years. We’re not going there as victims and I know that my team is going to give its all, just as they’ve done in all the previous games.”
