Diego Forlán travelled to Trondheim after having left Tuesday’s training session injured and the Uruguayan took the pitch at Lerkendal Stadion and worked out normally alongside his teammates. That was the big news of the practice of the ‘rojiblanco’ squad in Norway, in a cold that ran deep on a night that fell at seven o’clock, which was when Atlético de Madrid got to work.
The twenty players who had made the trip to Norway held a one-hour training session although, as is usual in European matches, the media were only able to attend the first quarter-hour. The same can be said of the dozen ‘rojiblanco’ supporters who are studying ‘Erasmus’ (study abroad programme) in Norway and headed to Trondheim to cheer on their team. They will form part of the group of ‘rojiblanco’ followers who will support Atlético de Madrid from the stands of Rosenborg’s sightly stadium on a day for which the weather forecast predicts cold and rain at kick-off time.
