Diego Costa made his debut with Brazil against Italy (2-2)
Three Atletico players played in two international matches played on Thursday. Koke was key in the win against Norway, while Diego Costa debuted with Brazil and Filipe Luis was a starter.
The participation of the Atletico players could not be better at the start of the double header in FIFA matches. Spain Under-21 began preparing for the European Championships to be played in June in Israel with a win against Norway in a match in which Koke was again one of the stars of the Julen Lopetegui’s team.
Koke played the entire first half and the second goal came from his boots after fine work from Tello after Nielsen had given the Norwegians the lead in the first minute. Tello scored the equalizer and then was involved in the aforementioned 2-1. Rodrigo made it 3-1 then in the second half Spain went 5-1 up thanks to Canales y Tollas before Kastrati pulled one back at the end.
Furthermore, Filipe Luis and Diego Costa faced Italy in Switzerland in a friendly that ended in a draw (2-2). Filipe Luis entered the starting lineup of Scolari and had a good match and was substituted in the 77th minute for Marcelo. Diego Costa managed to make his debut with the senior Brazil team, coming on in the 69th minute for Fred. Brazil took the lead in the first half with two goals from Fred and Oscar, but in the second it was Italy who took their chances to equalize in just three minutes with goals from De Rossi and Balotelli.
