Diego Costa has renewed for three more seasons
The striker is "very happy with the deal, it is a very special moment, I am very happy here." While Caminero highlighted his renewal as part of the sporting plan to keep together the successful side of recent years.
Atletico Madrid and Diego Costa have reached an agreement to extend the strikers contract for three more seasons, committing to our club until June 30th 2018. The striker, born in Lizard, Brazil, 24 years ago, was delighted with the agreement that has been signed with the club: "I am delighted with this agreement after fighting a long time to win the respect and affection of the fans, my team mates and people in the club. It's a very special moment, I am very happy here."
Diego Costa only had words of gratitude for the trust placed in him by Atletico Madrid: "I thank the club for making me this offer to spend much more time here and hope to become a much bigger player and conquer all the objectives that the squad has".
The striker, who has recently acquired dual nationality, was one of the outstanding player of red and white team, as evidenced by his numbers last season, in which he scored 20 goals, ten of them in the league and eight in Cup, one of which was in the final at the Santiago Bernabeu as Atletico picked up another title.

In this sense, José Luis Pérez Caminero welcomed the agreement signed with the striker: "This was one of the priorities of the club and it is great news for everyone at Atletico.
