Diego Costa, Godín and Perea work out apart from their teammates
Atienza, Fer, Noguera and César train with the first team
Atlético de Madrid continued to prepare for this coming Saturday’s league fixture against Mallorca, which will bring an end to the 2010-2011 season. It was a short session that lasted around 70 minutes. Diego Costa, Diego Godín and Luis Amaranto Perea did work apart from their teammates, as the three players worked out with Miguel Peiro to recover from their respective muscular injuries.
For his part, Diego Forlán arrived at the training facilities later, as he had been undergoing a medical check-up in the lead in to the Copa America at the Fremap Clinic. The Uruguayan was the first of the ‘rojiblancos’ who will take part in the Copa America to head to the Clinic to take the aforementioned tests.
As regards the Atlético B representatives, Atienza, César, Fer and Noguera practiced with the first squad. The session began with a warm-up, continued with 4v2s and ball possession games. Afterwards, Quique Sánchez Flores divided the squad into several groups and worked on defending against attacking plays. He then had his players work on odd-numbered attacking moves and wrapped things up with a scrimmage across the width of the pitch.
