FC PORTO 2-1 ATLETI

Defeat in Porto

Our team were unable to beat the Portuguese side in the game corresponding to the last matchday of the Champions League group stage.

Atleti couldn't beat Porto in their visit to Estadio do Dragão. Our team were unable to come back after two goals from the Portuguese side in the first half.

Within five minutes, Porto took the lead with a goal from Taremi when he met Evanilson's cross at the far post. The home side had another chance soon after but were denied by a save from Jan Oblak.

The home side were trying to create some dangerous moves to get close to their opponents' box through De Paul and Griezmann, but on a counter-attack the Portuguese side's second goal was to come. Galeno won a ball on the left flank and put in a cross that Eustaquio headed home in the 24th minute.

Antoine Griezmann sent the ball into the back of the net in the 68th minute but the goal was disallowed for a previous foul by Rodrigo De Paul.

Carrasco, who kept trying in the Red & White offensive, met Diogo Costa again in his attempt to beat him with a cross shot. The Belgian was responsible for the goal that would be scored in the last minute. A corner kick at the near post touched off Marcano and into the goal.

After the defeat in Portugal and the draw in the Leverkusen-Brugges match, our team failed to qualify for the Europa League.
