BRUGGE 2-0 ATLETI

Defeat in Belgium

Simeone's side failed to get a point at the Jan Breydelstadion in a match that was decided by the Belgian attacking prowess.

Diego Pablo Simeone's team made their first warning with a great move behind the defence. Molina's measured clearance, who had to fight for position and the ball to assist Carrasco. He connected with the Belgian on the edge of the area and without thinking twice he hit the ball with power, but his shot bounced off a Club Brugge defender. Our team tried their luck again, this time through Griezmann, although he would find opposition from Mignolet. However, the clearest chance fell to Morata. A deep ball from Nahuel to the back of the Belgian defence for the '19', the striker from Madrid drove the ball in and, in the one-on-one, found opposition from the home goalkeeper. Despite the Red and Whites' insistence, a play inside the box led to the Brugge goal. Jutglà's pass back to Sowah, who finished to put the Belgians in front.

The second half started with Jan Oblak's great save from Jutglà's volley. Our team looked to hit back first with a powerful shot from Carrasco that went just wide and a good combination inside the box between Correa and Griezmann that hit the side of the net. Again, despite the chances they created, Brugge put the game beyond their reach with a free-kick from Jutglà from inside the area. After the setback, our team did not give up and tried to make the game more dynamic with the introduction of Cunha. And so it was. The Brazilian forced a penalty out of nowhere, but Griezmann's spot-kick hit the crossbar. The Frenchman tried to redeem himself by scoring the next time with a great finish that was disallowed for offside.

The next match for our team will be against Girona at the Cívitas Metropolitano on Saturday October 8 at 4:15pm, matchday 8 of LaLiga.
