Defeat against Elche
A solitary goal by Fidel in the final stretch of the first half decided the match.
Minimal defeat in our visit to the Martínez Valero on Sunday, where we lost 1-0 against Elche in the match corresponding to the 34th LaLiga matchday.
In a duel with hardly any scoring chances, Morata had the clearest chance for our team after 7 minutes, after heading in De Paul's cross from the right flank that forced Edgar Badía to work. On 15 minutes, on that flank, there was another dangerous approach, with a low pass from Molina that went through the area without Lemar or Griezmann making contact with the ball.
However, it was the home side who took the lead in the 42nd minute, with a shot from Fidel on the edge of the six-yard box, preceded by a throw-in in which Lautaro Blanco stepped on the white line as he put the ball into play. A goal that would end up tipping the scales in favour of the Elche side, after a second half in which we dominated possession and hovered around the rival area at all times, but without managing to restore parity.
