Courtois: 'The game against Celtic is important and difficult'
The Belgian goalkeeper believes the team has played two good games in the league, despite the results
Thibaut Courtois the Belgian goalkeeper appeared on Monday at the Ciudad Deportiva in Majadahonda to talk with the press. The goalkeeper said the goals will come 'in the next game' because the team has 'very good forwards in Falcao, Adrian, Diego, Arda, Salvio ...'.
Asked about his first impressions of Atletico, Courtois said that it is a team 'with great quality' and is 'one of the largest in Spain.' After two days of the season in which he has played as a starter, the keeper found some differences between Spanish football and football in his country. 'When the game is tied in Belgium they play more long balls while here the keep playing possession,” he said.
Atletico this season have three goalies with proven quality. Faced with the possibility of changes in the position in terms of competition, Courtois said that 'it is possible,' but said he does not know what will happen. In any case, he thinks that the fact of having so much competition in goal 'is good for the team.'
In a more than acceptable Spaniah, despite hardly having had time for classes, the goalkeeper also spoke about the next match of the Europa League against Celtic. The keeper said he believes 'it’s an important game because it is the first in the group.' However he expects a good result: 'In the Calderon we should win, but it is a difficult game because Celtic have a very strong defense.'
