Atlético de Madrid will face Elche in the Copa del Rey Round of 32 at 9:30 p.m. CET. Diego Pablo Simeone called up 16 players for our debut in the Spanish Cup.

Elche are currently 4th in Segunda B's Group III. In the last round of the Copa del Rey, they eliminated Hércules to be able to face Atleti. 

The match will be a special one for Saúl, since his family has ties to Elche. Before kick-off, the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero will hold an act honoring our midfielder. 

Considering Atleti’s tight schedule in October, Simeone is ready to change up the starting lineup.

“We’re always looking at the lads from the B team to be able to bring them up, like we’ve done in the past few years with Lucas and Thomas,” he said in the pre-match press conference. “We have to give opportunities to the youth players, since they’re important for Atlético de Madrid.”
