Atleti lost 4-0 at Bayern Munich on Wednesday in the Champions League opener. Simeone’s men had good chances to score but the hosts were the clinical side on the night.

Our team had a massive early chance after a fantastic team move. Unfortunately, Suárez was inches away from connecting with Lodi’s cross. The opening 20 minutes were eventful as both sides attacked each other. We collected another good chance through Carrasco, whose strike was saved by Neuer. But it was the hosts who took the lead just before the half hour mark as Coman struck from close range. Unfortunately, Bayern doubled their lead in the dying minutes of the first half. This time it was Goretzka who struck low to beat Oblak.

Atleti didn’t give up and Joao Félix scored just after the break, but the goal was unfortunately disallowed for offside following a VAR review. We kept pushing and Carrasco had a great chance to pull one back, but was off target from close range. The hosts, on the other hand, scored every time they attacked. Tolisso netted a sensational goal from outside the box and then Coman scored the fourth after a fantastic solo run. Our team searched for a deserved goal until the end, but the game ultimately ended 4-0 in a night to forget.
