Cata: "Now is the time to fight and keep scoring points"
The Argentine player spoke at a press conference about Sunday's derby against Getafe. His 200 games with the club will make the game with the Azulóns special for him.
To score as many points as possible at the end of the season is the approach that Diego Pablo Simeone has drilled in to his players all season. Cata Diaz spoke in the press room about Atletico’s goal to finish as high as possible in the league. "We will go to Getafe to win to get as many points as possible and to achieve the goal we set earlier this season. We think there are others that follow each game. It would be a pity to let the opportunities of going above Real Madrid pass like we did last weekend."
It's a special game because in 2007 I arrived at Getafe and they have always treat me very well
The Argentine defender was not surprised by the good season being had by Getafe this season. "Getafe has had regular years and quite good one. They have good players to be up and to be consistent."
After playing a total of 200 appearances for Getafe, Cata returns to Coliseum Alfonso Perez wearing the red and white shirt. "It's a special game because in 2007 I arrived at Getafe and they have always treat me very well. I have known good, hardworking people and I will always be grateful to them. I had some good years there and it is a club that will always have a place in my heart."
The final of the Copa del Rey for the Argentine defender is no reason to switch off from the league. "We are thinking of taking as many points as possible. The final is already there and we will think about that game when it approaches. Now is the time to fight and keep scoring points for the league."
