Atleti earned a key 1-0 win against FC Barcelona at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday. Carrasco scored our goal just before half-time.

It was a spectacular match from the very first minute. We had two fantastic early chances, the first of which was a left-foot strike from Saúl that was answered in style by ter Stegen. The second was even bigger as Correa set Llorente up and the Spaniard’s shot struck the crossbar. Koeman’s side were also dangerous when they got close to Oblak’s box, particularly when Dembele was on the ball. The Slovenian was forced to deny Messi as the Argentine struck from inside the box. But just as we approached half-time, Carrasco put us in front via a delicious goal.

Our team continued to try to attack throughout the second half. Neither side was able to replicate the big chances from the opening 45’, though, even if Simeone and Koeman’s men attacked whenever possible. Costa came on for Llorente with some 20’ to go. Joao Félix and Correa made way for Lemar and Kondogbia not long after. Felipe came on for the goalscorer Carrasco in stoppage time as we tried to hang on to the three points. We managed to do so and earned a key and sensational win that extends our unbeaten run in LaLiga to 24 games.
