Atlético train on the artificial turf pitch where Atlético C plays
An hour-and-a-half of work between gym and pitch
The Atlético de Madrid first squad trained for an hour-and-a-half at the Majadahonda Sports Complex. The players were unable to use the normal training pitch because it was frozen and they had to practice on the artificial grass field where Atlético C play their home games.
Four Atlético B players, Andrés, Gallegos, Joseph and Jiménez, in addition to Alberto Perea, Pulido and Koke, trained with the first squad, in spite of the fact that they played with the reserves on Sunday afternoon in Pontevedra. Asenjo did alternative work in the gym, while Borja González also began in the gym but then later took the pitch to continue working with Óscar Pitillas on his rehabilitation.
The group started in the gym and then did warm-up drills with physical exercises, moving into technical-tactical drills with two small goals. Afterwards, those who played the most minutes against Espanyol left early back to the gym, while the rest of the players did attacking moves with finishing and wrapped things up with a small-sided practice match.
