Atlético to travel to Germany on Wednesday 15 December

The ‘rojiblancos’ will train at BayArena in an evening session

Atlético de Madrid will play their final cards to try and stay alive in the UEFA Europa League. Quique Sánchez Flores men want to do away with the stats that have them out of the competition and will try to beat their opponent, Bayer Leverkusen, and wait for the result of the other match-up in the group between Aris and Rosenborg.

Atlético de Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen
will hold their final training sessions on Wednesday before facing off on Thursday 16 December (7 pm). The ‘rojiblanco’ squad will practice at BayArena Stadium at 6:30 pm, and Quique Sánchez Flores and an Atleti player will hold a press conference before the session (6 pm).

For their part, Bayer Leverkusen will train at 3:30 pm at their normal training complex, and their manager, Jupp Heynckes, and one player will give a press conference at 2 pm at the scene of the match. In the Spanish side’s practice, the media will only have access for the first 15 minutes; they will be able to attend the full session of the Germans.

The Atlético de Madrid expedition will land in Cologne on a charter flight at 12:35 pm on Wednesday and then will travel by bus to Leverkusen, where the arrival is scheduled for 1:30 pm. The team will return to Spain after the match.
