Atletico score four more
Another Hat-Trick from Falcao
Atletico Madrid dished out another thrashing, this time to Preciado’s Sporting (4-0). The red and whites put in another great performance with Falcao putting the icing on the cake. The Colombian striker scored another hat-trick ahead of the visit to the Camp Nou.
The fans in the Vicente Calderon were served up another treat after the 4-0 win against Racing de Santander. The game started with great intensity by Manzano’s side. Within five minutes, there was a big shout for a penalty when Falcao went down in the area, but the referee waved it away.
Atletico Madrid maintained the intensity and domination of the game and the reward for the hosts came from the boots of Falcao. The Colombian was on the end of a corner from Gabi and although Lora got a touch on it, he couldn’t keep it out of the net. A great start for the rojiblancos.
Atleti controlled the first 45 minutes with the Asturians unable to get hold off the ball to create any danger. Atletico Madrid took advantage, spraying the ball in to the spaces.
In the second 45 minutes, the home side continued their dominance, although Sporting began to create a few chances of their own. Preciado made some tweaks giving the side more bite. However, Falcao did not want to end the night there, coming close on a few occasions.
Preciado made a change after 63 minutes and decided to play with two strikers as they went in search of an equaliser. This only gave more space to Atletico with 'El Tigre' Falcao hitting the bar with a fine curling effort. It wasn’t long before Dominguez increased the lead with a good header after a corner kick by Gabi. And the third arrived soon after, Falcao again getting on the end of a Gabi free kick.
With 3-0 on the score board inside the Calderon there was little that sporting could do as the home side continue to push forward and it was in the 80th minute when Falcao capped off a fine night for his team and on a personal note, bagging his second hat-trick in as many games with a wonderful individual effort.
