Chances to score soon arrived and Arda had almost opened up the match with a close range shot that was deflected by Kiko Casilla. Minutes after, Koke tried his luck from outside the box, but again was stopped by the blue and white goalkeeper. The locals totally controlled possession of the ball and carryed the weight of the match. Atlético attacked with constant crosses from each side of the pitch, and they got their reward in the first half when Tiago put us ahead with a beautiful header to the woodwork after a cross from Gabi.

Atlético's insistence did not cease in the second half. Mario Suárez scored Atlético’s second goal of the morning by extending a header from Giménez in the umpteenth corner of our team. The team led by Simeone was lord and master of a match that they dominated from start to finish to the delight of the red and white fans that came to our stadium.
