Since the arrival of Diego Pablo Simeone on the Atletico bench, the team has achieved new record only months after celebrating the club's 110 years of life. The Argentine reached the Calderón in December 2011, 14 months after his stamp and personality have been impregnated on the players, the fans and the history book. Here are some of the milestones:
Spectacular run in Europe: Atletico set a record of games won consecutively in European competitions, with sixteen victories. In Simeone’s spectacular streak in Europe the team achieving 16 consecutive victories, surpassing the record 11 wins that Ajax has set (between 1997 and 1998) and Barcelona (2002-03).
The fortress Calderon: Atletico Madrid has turned the Calderon into a fortress in the league. The team has not given way any points in their stadium this season and has 13 consecutive wins to which we must add the victory achieved last season against Malaga in the last day league. What is their limit?
Clean sheet: Since Osasuna on October 29th, 2012, no team has been able to score in the Atleti goal in the league. Eight consecutive games with the goal intact. The run is the second in history of the club winning eight games in a row on the banks of the Manzanares and without conceding a goal.
