Atlético Ottawa made history by winning the Canadian Premier League for the first time after defeating Cavalry 2–1 in a dramatic final. Despite heavy snowfall throughout, the team rose to the occasion to lift the trophy. One of the standout performers was Mexican forward David Rodríguez, whose brace proved decisive.

The grand final took place at TD Place Stadium in Ottawa, where an intense snowstorm shaped the course of the match. Atlético Ottawa had to recover after Cavalry opened the scoring from the penalty spot. That was when David Rodríguez stepped up. Just before half-time, the striker levelled the score with a stunning goal. The second half was tightly contested, with chances for both sides, and the match headed into extra time.

In the 107th minute, Rodríguez once again beat the defence and finished coolly in a one-on-one to make it 2–1. It was a title-winning goal that will forever remain in the memories of Atlético fans.

Atlético Ottawa’s season has been nothing short of outstanding, setting club records for points, goals, and consistency from start to finish. For all these achievements, Atlético de Madrid sends its heartfelt congratulations to our sister club in Canada.

Congratulations, champions!
