Atletico made a technical visit to their future stadium

The club headed by president Enrique Cerezo , and its CEO Miguel Angel Gil, along with the press attended the construction of facilities that will be their new home from the 2016/17 season.

Club Atlético de Madrid, led by its president Enrique Cerezo and its CEO Miguel Angel Gil, held on Wednesday September 11 a technical visit to their future stadium. The directive was accompanied by architect Antonio Cruz from the Ortiz & Cruz company.

Enrique Cerezo regretted "not being able to host the 2020 Olympic Games in Madrid, as all the locals would have benifitted from it. This visit was scheduled for some time ago, awaiting the IOC decision" .

Antonio Cruz took the opportunity to explain the details of the process of building a sports stadium. "We follow the normal rhythm of work. We are capping the lower floor of the stadium. There has been the foundation set in the the first phase and we will soon begin work with the other set," he said.

Miguel Angel Gil spoke during the visit to answer questions from reporters ahead of the move to the new stadium . The CEO explained that "our intention is to complete the work during the 2015/16 season and officially enter the new stadium on July 1 of that year to compete in the 2016/17 season".
