Atlético holds an intense work session thinking about Espanyol
Five members of the reserve squad train with the first team
Atlético de Madrid continued with their preparation for this Saturday’s match against Espanyol. The ‘rojiblancos’ know that a victory against the Catalan side is crucial to continue their climb up the table. Therefore, they trained intensely for the more than 70 minutes that they were on the pitch. Just like in previous sessions, the only players who missed the practice were Borja and Alberto Perea, who worked out apart from their teammates alongside physical trainer Óscar Pitillas.
The news lay in the presence of several members of the reserve squad in the session. Vitor, Abel, Jarju, Saúl and Joseph completed the entire practice with the first squad players. De Gea, Asenjo and Joel began the session, as has become usual, with Emilio Álvarez, the team’s goalkeeping coach. The rest of the players began with a physical circuit and then moved into ball possession games. Once these drills were concluded, the entire squad got together, and Quique Sánchez Flores had them work on releasing the ball up the pitch and finishing.
