Atlético de Madrid prepares for the match against Deportivo with tactical work
Quique S. Flores designs a practice match against a five-man defence
Atlético de Madrid trained for almost two hours at the Majadahonda Sports Complex with a session that was divided into two halves. To begin, the players did physical work under the orders of Jordi García, then moved into tactical work with set-pieces, crosses with finishing, and attacking-defending pressure drills. There was also time for a practice game.
Tiago, who left Tuesday’s practice with a slight right groin strain, trained normally and took part in one of the small-sided games in a team formed by: De Gea; Ujfalusi, Perea, Domínguez, Filipe Luis; Reyes, Raúl García, Tiago, Alberto Perea; Kun and Forlán. Facing them, the other squad played with a five-man defence, which is what the ‘rojiblancos’ will see on Saturday against Deportivo, as Miguel Ángel Lotina plays with five defenders. In this line were Valera, Juanito, Godín, Pulido and Antonio López.
