Atlético de Madrid hold a regenerative session on Friday afternoon
The ‘rojiblancos’ want to forget about the European elimination as soon as possible
After Atlético de Madrd were knocked out of the UEFA Europa League, Quique Sánchez Flores’ lads are now thinking about their upcoming league match against Málaga at La Rosaleda. The Atleti footballers want to forget about what happened in this competition as quickly as possible and are focused on league play and the Copa del Rey.
As is usual the day after matches, the team was divided into two groups during Friday’s training at the Majadahonda Sports Complex facilities. Those who were starters against Bayer Leverkusen held a regenerative session, while the rest of the tam completed a more intense session. This second group began with a warm-up and continued with small-sided possession games, finishing drills and wrapped up the day with a small-sided practice game with miniature goals.
On the other hand, winger José Antonio Reyes, who didn’t play in the match in Germany against Bayer Leverkusen, worked out alone, first in the gym and then on the normal training pitch. There he did some light running under the supervision of Óscar Pitillas (Physical trainer/physiotherapist) and Miguel Peiró (Physical trainer).
The team managed by Quique Sánchez Flores will hold its final training session before heading to Málaga to face the side from Andalusia on Saturday at 11 am at the Majadahonda Sports Complex with a closed doors practice.
