Atlético de Madrid get back to work after their huge league win over Real

Antonio López did alternative work

Just hours after earning a big 3-0 victory over Real Sociedad, Atlético de Madrid returned to training on Monday, April 11. As is usual the days after matches, the squad was divided into two groups. On one side were who were starters yesterday and, on another, was the rest of the team. Celso, goalkeeper from Atlético C, also took part in the session.

Those who played from the opening whistle against Real held a regenerative session. The rest of the team took the training pitch where, to start, they warmed up and did a series of 4v2s. Afterwards, they completed possession drills with goalkeepers and two finishing drills. To wrap up the session, which lasted around an hour-and-a-half, they played a small-sided game under the attentive gaze of manager Quique Sánchez Flores.

For his part, the captain of the team, Antonio López, continued to do alternative work with the team physical trainer, Óscar Pitillas, with the aim of recovering as quickly as possible from the medial collateral sprain he suffered in his right knee. Paulo Assunçao missed the practice with the Club’s permission.
