Atlético de Madrid, champion in South Africa
The team of Armando de la Morena completed an immaculate tournament, with five wins in five matches, with 8 goals in favour and only one conceded. In the final, it beat the South African Bidvest Wits won by 2-1.
The group stage of the Future Champions tournament of South Africa already looked very good for our team, with three victories in as many other matches. Armando de la Morena’s team thrashed Club Ferroviario Maputo from Mozambique in its debut by 3-0. Andy (2) and Óscar scored the goals.
In the second match, a 1-0 win against the Chinese Shandong Lenong, with Óscar as the scorer. This first stage ended with another 1-0 against the South African Black Aces thanks to a goal from Guille.
Already in the semi-finals, another 1-0 win against the South African Orlando Pirates with Joaquin scoring the sole goal. And this Saturday, in the final, win against Bidvest Wits, also from South Africa, by 2-1, thanks to goals from Joaquin and Óscar.
