Atlético will face F.C. Copenhagen in the Europa League Round of 32, after a draw in Nyon, Switzerland determined the fixture.
F.C. Copenhagen were founded in 1992 after a merger between Kjøbenhavns Boldklub and Boldklubben 1903. They are the most successful Danish club in history with 12 Danish league titles and eight Danish Cups.
Clemente Villaverde, board member and manager of the club, gave his thoughts on the draw. "They've won 12 league titles and eight cups. We'll have to send our scouts over to see how they're currently playing," he said. "Hopefully we can get to the final in Lyon and win [the competition]."
We will play F.C. Copenhagen in the Telia Parken Stadium on 15 January (21:05 CET), while the return leg in the Wanda Metropolitano will be played on 22 February (19:00 CET).
