Atleti lost 2-1 against Mallorca on Sunday at the Wanda Metropolitano. Cunha scored our goal, but the visitors turned things around in stoppage time.

Our team were off to a great start, producing two clear chances inside the opening five minutes. First, Koke provided a dangerous cross but none of our strikers managed to connect with the ball. And then, Cunha tried his luck from inside the box. His shot, however, went wide. Unfortunately, Savic was forced to leave the pitch due to muscle pain 11’ into the game. He was replaced by Hermoso. Lodi then had a big chance, but the keeper saved the one on one. Manolo Reina also denied Griezmann not long after. The visitors also produced a chance of their own, though, as Abdon’s powerful strike from the edge of the box went just wide. We eventually reached half-time with no goals on the scoreboard.

Felipe had the first chance of the second half, but he was unable to head home a great cross from Griezmann. Simeone made a double change one hour into the clash as Lemar and Joao Félix came on for De Paul and Griezmann. Cunha had a big chance shortly thereafter. The Brazilian was unable to beat the keeper after a fantastic team move. But he didn’t miss again a few minutes later, when he converted a Correa assist to finally put us in front. Simeone made a double substitution after that, when Vrsaljko and Suárez replaced Correa and Cunha. Unfortunately, the visitors equalised through Russo in the 81st minute. Felipe had a great chance to put us back in front, but his header went wide. As we pushed for the winner, Mallorca caught us on the break and scored again in stoppage time. The game ended 2-1.
